Position Summary

‍Civic Project Services is seeking a part-time, commission-only Sales Representative to identify, develop, and help convert new business opportunities with public-sector and mission-driven organizations.

This role is ideal for a self-directed sales professional with experience building relationships, opening doors, and creating qualified opportunities with government agencies, school districts, nonprofits, community organizations, or professional services buyers.‍

The Sales Representative will focus on prospecting, outreach, relationship development, lead qualification, and sales pipeline support. The primary objective is to help Civic Project Services connect with organizations that need structured project leadership, governance support, implementation oversight, vendor coordination, or grant-funded project delivery assistance.‍

Key Responsibilities‍ ‍

  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities with municipalities, school districts, nonprofits, grant-funded programs, and public-purpose organizations.‍

  • Conduct outbound prospecting through email, phone, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and community or public-sector channels.‍ ‍

  • Research prospective clients to understand their projects, funding environment, organizational challenges, and potential need for project delivery support.‍ ‍

  • Introduce Civic Project Services’ capabilities in a clear, professional, and consultative manner.‍ ‍

  • Qualify prospective clients based on need, timing, budget, decision-making authority, and fit with Civic Project Services’ services.‍ ‍

  • Schedule introductory meetings, discovery calls, or follow-up conversations with qualified prospects.‍ ‍

  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activity, prospect status, follow-ups, and opportunity progress.‍ ‍

  • Support proposal development by sharing relevant prospect information, project needs, stakeholder details, and timing considerations.‍ ‍

  • Represent Civic Project Services professionally and consistently with its values of public accountability, transparency, integrity, and service orientation.‍ ‍

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with civic, nonprofit, education, and public-sector stakeholders.‍ ‍

Ideal Candidate Profile‍ ‍

The ideal candidate is relationship-driven, credible, organized, and comfortable selling professional services in environments where trust, timing, and public accountability matter.‍ ‍

Strong candidates may have experience in one or more of the following areas:‍

  • Public-sector sales‍ ‍

  • Professional services sales‍ ‍

  • Consulting or project management services sales‍ ‍

  • Government, nonprofit, or education sector business development‍ ‍

  • Community development, economic development, grants, infrastructure, IT, construction, or capital project environments‍ ‍

  • Relationship-based B2B sales‍ ‍

  • Local government, school district, or nonprofit stakeholder engagement

‍ Required Qualifications‍ ‍

  • Prior experience in sales, business development, partnerships, account development, or client relationship management.‍ ‍

  • Ability to prospect independently and manage a pipeline of potential opportunities.‍ ‍

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.‍ ‍

  • Professional presence and ability to engage decision-makers.‍ ‍

  • High level of integrity, discretion, and follow-through.‍ ‍

  • Comfortable working in a part-time, commission-only role.‍ ‍

  • Ability to clearly explain service-based value propositions.‍ ‍

  • Self-motivated and able to work without daily supervision.‍ ‍

Preferred Qualifications‍ ‍

  • Existing relationships with public-sector, nonprofit, school district, civic, community development, or grant-funded organizations.‍ ‍

  • Familiarity with project management, capital projects, IT initiatives, infrastructure programs, grants, procurement, compliance, or public administration.‍ ‍

  • Experience selling to executive leaders, department heads, board members, superintendents, nonprofit executives, public officials, or program directors.‍ ‍

  • Experience using CRM tools, spreadsheets, or other pipeline tracking systems.‍ ‍

  • Understanding of how public-sector and nonprofit organizations make purchasing or contracting decisions.‍ ‍

Compensation‍ ‍

  • This is a commission-only opportunity. There is no base salary or hourly wage.‍ ‍

  • Commission will be paid based on successfully closed and paid client engagements generated or materially sourced by the Sales Representative, according to a written commission agreement.‍ ‍

  • Final commission structure, payment timing, eligible services, client ownership rules, and payout conditions will be documented before the representative begins outreach.‍ ‍

Time Commitment‍ ‍

This is a part-time, flexible opportunity. The role is well-suited for someone who can consistently dedicate time each week to prospecting, outreach, follow-up, and relationship development.‍ ‍
